Description
Pristella maxillaris, the only speciesin the genus Pristella, is commonly known as the X-ray fish or X-ray tetra because of its translucent body.
Reaching a max size of 2″, males can be distinguished from females by being smaller and thinner than the females. A non-picky eater, will eat most live and prepared foods.
This is a schooling fish and should ideally be kept in groups of 6 or more.
