Description
Hypancistrus sp. (L401) are also known as Rio Curua Plecos. L401’s are more carnivorous plecos than they are algae eaters. They have a lightly toothed mouth that isn’t great for scraping algae, therefore should be feed mainly meaty foods such as bloodworms, beefheart and dry discus foods more often than flake or algae tablet foods. These plecos are also slower eaters, so special care sometimes is needed to make sure they are getting enough food. They usually grow up to be around 4″ as adults
