Description
Found naturally in Congo River, Lake Tanganyika, and Lake Rukwa, Africa, P. ornatipinnis has black and yellow patterning on its body, head, and fins, with 9 to 11 dorsal spines.
It is the largest of the polypterus species reaching 2 feet in length. All polypterus are relatively peaceful with other fish that are too large too eat.
